Halloween 2013.

We did things a bit differently this year. We did not do any trick or treating on Halloween. Gasp! I know. But before you think we are horrible parents + depriving our children of an awesome Halloween (which actually did cross my mind if it hasn't crossed yours...hehehe), they did get lots of candy already. First we had our ward's Trunk or Treat last Friday. Then this past Monday, we went to a friend's Halloween FHE, where there was lots of goodies + a piñata stuffed with candy. So technically they have had their fill of candy for Halloween. So on Halloween, we dressed the kids up + went to Harrell's House of Oddities. The main attraction: a bug museum. In three rooms, there was over 2,400 bugs on exhibit + about two dozen live bugs. Honestly, the spiders freaked me out, but it was awesome. The kids LOVED it! So my guilt about not taking them trick or treating went away, because they had a lot of fun + enjoyed it all! And we also decorated cookies + made cinnamon rolls. So sugar was still at an all time high on Halloween. Enjoy.
