Tayliah's Preschool Olympics.

Tayliah started gymnastics back in March. She is in the Preschool class + goes twice a week (Monday + Wednesday @ 5:30 - 6:30 pm). She loves it so much! She has really progressed in the past few months. She understands what she needs to do + always tries her hardest to do the best she can. We are so very, very proud of her.

Today she attened the 15th Annual Preschool Olympics. There were 13 children in her session. There were 4 events. Rolls, low bar, handstand/cartwheel, + vault. She did so good at each of them!

First event was rolls. They did a forward roll, a forward straddle roll, + then a backwards roll. Here is her backwards roll:

Second event was the low bar: (if you scoll down at a certain speed, it looks like she is doing it fast...lol)

Third event: Handstands + cartwheels. Here was her handstand:

Yes, she is just plain awesome!

I am so, so, so proud of her with her handstands. When she first started her legs would flail around, be bent, + it was just crazy....lol. But she has really gotten them down good.

The last + final event was the vault. They ran up + jumped on the block 3 times. First was onto the knees, second time was into a squat, + third time was into a straddle.

This is another area where she has really improved. She started out walking up to the block + climbing on then needing the teachers help to get into whatever postition was called for - knees, squat, or straddle. Now she runs up, jumps, + lands into what she is supposed to do. I love this  :)

After the 4 events where done, they were each called up to stand on the block + recieve their certificate + ribbon. Each kid either got a blue, red, + or white ribbon. They kept score at each of the different stations + tallied it up at the end. We didn't get her final score, but she is one that did get a blue ribbion! Yep, that is right: 1st place!
